About This Project

Abingdon-on-Thames Guildhall

This project saw a 15th Century building and its 1966 extension transformed into a social and cultural hub. The proposals included a new café, cinema, state-of-the-art theatre and extensive renovations to the existing Abbey Hall.

The vision aimed to make the Guildhall more inviting and, ultimately, accessible by creating a new entrance in Bridge Street, as well as the main entrance from Abbey Close. Improving the building fabric and its performance was integral to the design as a sustainable solution was sought.
