About This Project

Basmead Manor

Basmead Manor is a large moated working farmstead containing a Grade II* listed farmhouse, with numerous farm buildings – both historic and modern – and a barn that was used for occasional weddings.

Lewandowski Architects was asked to investigate the possibility of using the existing and new buildings to create a wedding venue capable of hosting more than 100 weddings every year, and in doing so consider the future of the entire area within the moat. We produced a design that was supportive of both the site’s historic assets and the working commercial nature of the traditional farmstead.
