About This Project

Wasing Wedding Venue

The Grade II listed 18th Century Castle Barn was sympathetically converted so that it could host up to 150 guests for seated dining at a wedding reception and up to 200 guests for the evening entertainment.
The design aimed to provide flexible spaces that respect both the historic setting and the client’s carefully considered business model. It is currently hosting in excess of 100 weddings each year.
A ceremony barn, with disabled access, was also built and set within a private walled garden to increase the capacity of the venue. This contemporary space created flexible accommodation while also sitting comfortably within its historic setting. The design required consultation to identify the varying needs of the local community, the venue operator, the site owner and English Heritage.
