School of Management extension
The building was designed to provide natural daylight and controlled heat, via the south elevation of the building. Wherever possible we utilised double height spaces to create a sense of volume and connectivity between the spaces, both vertically and horizontally.
The junction between the existing brick elevation on the northern edge of the site provided access into the new breakout study rooms or seminar space and vertical circulation to the school head’s office and admin support accommodation. The access into the rooms at first-floor level was via an open bridge-type landing. The physical connection between the old and new was glazed to allow the existing finish of the old façade to be visible from both inside and outside.
