About This Project

Food technology classrooms

This scheme involved the demolition of an existing 1970’s rooftop extension and the creation of a new, single-storey rooftop building in the same location. The new building was intended to house science and IT classrooms, along with music practice rooms and offices.
The building adopted a contemporary architectural style, complimenting as well as contrasting with the traditional style of the existing school buildings. The intention was to create a building of exemplary sustainable architecture, which enriched the learning environment for the pupils, as well as acting as a teaching tool for the sciences taught within.

Due to the high profile location and close proximity to Windsor Castle, the roofscape and elevation were very important to the progression of the scheme through planning.
